Troubleshooting
Servo Drive Fault — Overcurrent (F001)
Symptoms:
- Drive displays F001 on power-up
- Motor does not enable
- Mechanical binding suspected
Steps:
- Disconnect motor from load and attempt enable — if OK, check mechanical binding
- Verify motor wiring phase sequence and ground isolation
- Review acceleration profile — reduce if exceeding torque limit during ramp
- Check encoder feedback connection and resolution parameter
- If fault persists, contact support with drive serial number and parameter export
EtherCAT Communication Loss
Symptoms:
- Intermittent I/O dropouts
- Sync error counters incrementing
- Network status LED flashing
Steps:
- Inspect cable routing — separate from power cables (>100mm)
- Verify termination at last node and cable quality (Cat5e minimum)
- Check for duplicate node addresses in configuration
- Update firmware on all nodes to compatible versions
- Use built-in network diagnostic tool to identify weak segment
Proximity Sensor Intermittent Detection
Symptoms:
- Missed part detection on conveyor
- Counter drift on production display
- Sensor LED flickers
Steps:
- Confirm target material and sensing distance per datasheet
- Check for vibration causing target to exit sensing zone
- Verify supply voltage stability (24 VDC ±10%)
- Clean sensor face — buildup affects capacitive and photoelectric types
- Replace with shielded cable if EMI from nearby VFDs
